Necessary steps for starting as a freelance sound designer

1. Master at least one instrument and understand the other Musical/Instrument Skills

2. Have enough experience in production and post-production activities.

3. Be sociable, have self confidence and motivation

4. Be accustomed to concentrate for long periods

5. Creating an eye-catching website, and promoting a daily blog

6. Getting out of your comfort zone as a music producer, i.e. taking up advanced jobs which require a deeper understanding of languages and socio-cultural norms

7. Being adept at post production and be able to spot mastering errors or gaps in a track

8. Being open to learning, keep always current. Read, watch and try new techniques, skills and trends

9. Marketing yourself, let the people familiarise you
